Unless You Repent...

on Friday, August 29, 2008

Luk 13:1-5 There were some present at that very time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And he answered them, "Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered in this way? No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them: do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who lived in Jerusalem? No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."

That is Jesus' call, "Unless you repent, you will perish." People tend to think that Jesus came that we can have stuff, or live without problems. Wrong! Jesus came to save us from the bondage of sin. He promises nothing of value in this world, but rather tells us to store up our treasures in heaven. Where our treasures are, that is where our heart will be. I said all that to say this, if we come to Jesus and acknowledge we have sinned against Him, repent (turn from sin), and trust Him for salvation, we will be saved. Repent or you will perish.

My Apologies

on Tuesday, August 26, 2008

I want to apologize for my recent inactivity. I have been in the works of changing the layout of the blog. I always do that. I am constantly changing the way things look. I change my wallpaper on the windows desktop more than anyone I know, ask my wife, she hates it. So, I will get back to the blogging very soon, I promise. Until then, keep studying the Word, and praying for those you care about. Leave me some comments on any topics you might like to see me cover. I am always open for ideas, as long as they don't stray from the purpose of this blog. Peace out my brethren.

Think you're a christian?

If you are not sure then I suggest you watch this video. I think everyone should view this video at least once or twice. Afterward, go to your prayer closet and ask God to examine your heart. Examine yourself to see if you are in the faith as the Word of God tells us to. If after watching, you are still not sure e-mail me and I will walk you through it. We need to be about the Father's business. God help us.

Sanctification....play golf to test it out.

on Friday, July 25, 2008

First off, for the 2 readers out there I want to apologize for not posting anything yesterday. I was very busy.

OK, I played my first round of golf in 6 years yesterday. I absolutely stunk it up. It's really weird because I love to play. I was having some moments where I had to control myself from throwing the club across the fairway because it would not hit the ball straight. They are not the expensive Taylor Made or Nike brand. Just the cheap Northwestern brand. It is the clubs fault right?! It truly is a game that requires patience, and self control. Somehow it seems to bring out those things that need repented of. Which is good, right?

Daily God works on us, showing us where we fall short. It is our responsibility to respond to the leading of the Holy Spirit and repent of those things. That makes me think that God uses golf to help us grow closer to Him. I should tell my wife that. Maybe then I could play more.
